In recent days local media in Zambia has blown up over increasing discontent concerning China's investments in the country (archived, archived). China has been engaging in direct loans to the Zambian government outside of the "rules based" IMF system in exchange for the ability to develop Zambia's mineral deposits, primarily copper. The discussion appears to center around the unfairness of China receiving useful quantities of copper while Chinese made automobiles trickle into the Zambian market, though the likelihood of external agitation from "rules based" advocates is high enough to suggest this is probably not a purely indigenous outrage.

NYTimes Wrote Something About Stalled Rodney Rosenstein Coup Attempt Against Trump
In a piece published as part of their end of the week newsdump the NYTimes wrote a piece concerning Deputy US Attorney General Rodney Rosenstein's stalled coup attempt against US President Donald Trump (archived). According to the story after Rosenstein authored a memo recommending James Comey's firing Rosenstein solicited persons1 with access to the White House to surveil the president while Rosenstein himself would gaslight the president. Then according to the plan Rosenstein and conspirators would use recordings of a man reacting in anger to having been gaslit as evidence of "incapacity" and mount a coup from there.
Given the Pantsuit venue in which the report appeared, the plot appears to have been unsuccessful to the point its supporters had to escalate the gaslighting by collaborating with Pantsuit media to publish the plot, likely with critical details altered in order to bait the president into acting clumsily before he cements hold of the Senate in this fall's midterm elections. Earlier this month the NYTimes published a piece (archived) claiming to be from a Trump administration insider sabotaging President Trump's agenda from the inside. While the earlier piece is as likely to be fanfiction as it is the daydreams of a deskriding pantsuit manlet in a government office, the point of publishing these pieces is clearly to bait Trump into premature retaliation before the next congress is sworn in.

Russian President Putin and Jewish Leader Bibi Netanyahu are offering measured, concilliatory words after Israeli planes conducting air strikes in Syria used a Russian Il-20 observation plane as radar cover leading to its destruction by Syrian air defenses (archived). Soon after the plane went down Russia was swift to condemn Israel for their role in the destruction of the planeand loss of the crew.
Israel has been intervening in this Syrian civil war through airstrikes and other means with the apparent goal of escalating and prolonging the conflict.
Cristina Kirchner Charged Over Criminal Conspiracy
Judge Claudio Bonadia has levied criminal charges against former Argentine President Cristina Kirchner, requested her immunity from prosecution as a sitting Senator be stripped, and further requested her imprisonment (archived). The charges stem from an investigation which revealed Cristina, her late husband Nestor, and others turned the aparatus of the Argentine state into their very own mechanized bribe collection network.
Whether Cristina's prosecution moves forward depends on her Senate collegues accepting or rejecting Judge Bonadia's request.
"OK" Sign Outrage Hysteria Approaches Crippling Proportions
A member of the US Coast Guard's Hurricaine response team was removed from his post after NBC cameras caught him signalling everything is alright by flashing the "OK" hand sign (archived). In the last month members of the pantsuit outrage machine have attempted to stigmatize this visual signal for denoting everything is alright with escalating outrage over incidents where cameras have captured mostly1 white people using the common gesture as headline fodder.
The decision by the media outrage machine to latch onto an old meme developed between 2015 which attributed white power messages to a number of gestures including the entirety of the American Sign Language alphabet is the latest incident of humor being subjected to Hegelian frog boiling by the unyielding media social engineers. Legislators in Russia are drafting a law that would normalize a system of duelling for citizens and civil servants to avenge insults allowing for men to engage in dignified combat by small swords, sabers, and pistols (archived). The International Monetary Fund has issued a report containing numerous threats against the Marshall Islands over the latter's early stage explorations into reducing their economy's USD dependence (archived).
