Prosecuting Attorney
The Twelfth Judicial District of Arkansas is a one county district comprised of Sebastian County. There is an upper township (Fort Smith District) and a lower township (Greenwood District). The Twelfth Judicial District is one of the busiest Prosecuting Attorney’s offices in the state.
The mission of the Office of the Prosecuting Attorney of Sebastian County is to enhance public safety and welfare and create a sense of security in the community so that the vigorous enforcement of criminal and civil laws is executed in a just, honest, efficient, and ethical manner. The Fort Smith office has a Deputy Prosecuting Attorney available to handle both phone calls and walk-in matters from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. each week day (including the lunch hour). The Greenwood office is available to assist you from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. and 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. This office will assist you with criminal, juvenile, or involuntary commitment matters.
